The Montgomery GI Bill® is available for those who have served on active duty. Eligible veterans can receive up to 36 months of education benefits. Generally, benefits are payable for 10 years following your release from active duty.

The Post-9/11 GI Bill® provides up to 36 months of education benefits for veterans who served after September 10, 2001. Benefits include tuition and fee coverage, a monthly housing allowance, and a stipend for books and supplies. If you are eligible for more than one GI Bill® program, you must make an irrevocable choice when selecting this option.

New Jersey offers free tuition at public colleges and universities for members of the New Jersey Army and Air National Guard who have completed basic training. Dependents of qualified members may also be eligible.
