Atlantic Cape Community College is committed to ensuring that electronic technology adopted by the college for use by students is accessible to those who are blind or visually impaired in accordance with applicable law. In addition, Atlantic Cape Community College requires that web-based content adhere to WCAG 2.0 level AA Standards, and therefore, will advise vendors of its desire to procure web-based EIT that complies with these standards.

In this workshop, you will learn how to ensure that any Electronic and Information Technology (EIT) product considered for purchase or adoption by faculty or staff is evaluated in regards to whether or not it is accessible to people with disabilities.

  • Defining 3rd party materials.
  • Understanding federal law in regards to EIT purchases or licenses for or deployed to students.
  • Overview of process in requesting vendors to warrant in writing that any technology provided is accessible.
  • Implementing an evaluation process to assist in the procurement process.
