Transfer Students

It’s Easy to Transfer. Even Easier to Belong.

We’re so glad you’re considering transferring to Atlantic Cape. Whether you’re changing direction or picking up where you left off, we make the transfer process simple and student-friendly. Start by reviewing our academic programs to see how your previous credits can align with your future goals. From personalized advising to flexible course options, we’re here to help you make the most of the work you’ve already done and get you one step closer to your degree.

Who’s a Transfer Student?

A transfer student is anyone who has previously enrolled at another college or university and is now continuing their education at Atlantic Cape. Whether you’ve completed one course or several semesters elsewhere, you’re considered a transfer student if you’re bringing in college credits from another institution. A maximum of 30 credits is accepted for transfer.

But First - We Need Your Transcripts

Once you apply for admission (see steps below), make sure to have your official transcripts sent directly from your current college to our Enrollment Services office. Transcripts must be sent by mail or email from your school. We cannot accept copies directly from students unless they are in a sealed, unopened envelope.

Types of Credit Transfer Evaluations

If you're joining Atlantic Cape from another college or have prior learning experience, good news! You may be eligible to receive credit for work you’ve already completed. We can accept up to 30 credits toward your degree here.We review many types of learning for potential credit, that is explained in the sections below. To be eligible, courses must have a grade of ‘C’ (2.0 GPA) or better. Please note: grades like ‘C-’ won’t transfer. Approved credits will count toward your degree but won’t replace Atlantic Cape courses or factor into your GPA, unless you’re applying to a selective Health Sciences program that considers them for prerequisites. Some time limits apply:
  • Math and science courses older than 10 years
  • Technology courses older than 5 years may not be accepted.
Your official transcripts will be reviewed course-by-course, and we’ll help you understand exactly how your credits fit into your academic plan. Have questions? Reach out -we’re here to help.
