After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Rutgers University – New Brunswick in 2024, Alexandra Ramirez found her career options severely limited. It was at that point in time, after several internships, that Ramirez decided to further pursue her love of art by enrolling at Atlantic Cape.
Years of practice, training and the inevitable trials and tribulations that come with attempting to learn the tricks of the trade in the kitchen have led Gabrielle Ruberti and Ryan Somers to both earn $15,000 scholarships at the Annual Vincent DeFinis Restaurant Gala Scholarship cooking competition.
After completing their respective freshman years at Atlantic Cape many returning sophomores decided to relax and decompress during the summer break by going away on vacation or simply staying close to home. New and returning students attended Welcome Back Week on the Mays Landing campus Sept. 9–11.

The desperate pleadings for help mimicked those of a real-life patient and the transfixed countenance of the nearly life-like mechanized mannequin laying in the hospital bed evoked the emotion of one in distress. While a simulated emergency, the highly-trained medical professionals treated this demonstration like an actual medical emergency.
