After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Rutgers University – New Brunswick in 2024, Alexandra Ramirez found her career options severely limited. It was at that point in time, after several internships, that Ramirez decided to further pursue her love of art by enrolling at Atlantic Cape.

Years of practice, training and the inevitable trials and tribulations that come with attempting to learn the tricks of the trade in the kitchen have led Gabrielle Ruberti and Ryan Somers to both earn $15,000 scholarships at the Annual Vincent DeFinis Restaurant Gala Scholarship cooking competition.

Atlantic Cape Community College student Het Parekh was recently selected as the State of New Jersey’s 2025 New Century Workforce Pathway Scholar recipient. He will receive a $1,500 scholarship and will be recognized in New Orleans, Louisiana October 22-25.

During the Vietnam War Era between 1955-1975 nearly 9.1 million American military members served active duty while 2.7 million actually had boots on the ground in Vietnam. From 1965 to 1973, approximately 58,220 American soldiers died in combat.
